Funding for Women's Health Research

For far too long, women’s health has been underfunded, under-researched, and overlooked. I’m grateful to stand alongside Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay, who has been a leader in New York fighting to increase education and awareness about endometriosis. Her work is helping move this conversation forward, and we need that same urgency at the federal level. Endometriosis affects millions of women, yet too many spend years waiting for a diagnosis while living with chronic pain. PCOS affects 1 in 8 women and is a leading cause of infertility. These are not niche issues. They are major public health issues that deserve real investment. That’s why I support the Endometriosis CARE Act, which would invest $50 million annually through the NIH to advance research, improve treatments, and work toward a cure. Women’s health is not expendable.
